If you're having any trouble doing anything regarding GIMP, or the newer version, GIMP 2.2, then please post it here. I'm pretty comfortable with the tools, etc. that GIMP has. Also, if you're looking for more indepth tutorials/help, then you can always check GIMP Talk.

ive looked for tuts everywhere, how do you put borders around pixel text

I'll tell you.

Select the layers menu, and right click the text layer. Go to "Alpha to Selection". Now, create a new layer right on top of the text layer. Make the layer transparent. Make that layer active. Now, go to Select > Grow. Usually 1-2 pixels. Ok it, and choose the color you'd like the outline to be. Select the bucket fill tool, and fill in the selected area with that color. Now, go back to your layers menu and move that layer behind the text layer.

kickermf, you can just type in "GIMP 2" in the google search bar, and then you should be able to find a link to a download.

What do you mean? It can cut out parts of pictures, if that's what you're getting at.

You could blur, lower the opacity or feather whatever it is you'd like to blend.
