FYI: This is only half of a duel diary I'm writing at Neoseeker, along with my partnah, Frogsplash. To read the full diary (meaning Frogsplash's Friday Night Smackdown!) go here.
Ratings for all WWE brands have slipped drastically to the point where Vince rarely made profits. Vince decided in order to save money, that he would have to eliminate one of the brands. It didn't matter which, as all three brands low ratings were equal. Vince decided that in the interest of fairness, all three brands would each have a superstar represent their brand and face off in a triple threat match at Survivor Series. The superstar who got the winning pin-fall would save his brand, and get the number 30 spot in the Royal Rumble. The loser got his brand destroyed, and the man in the middle was still able to save his brand. The superstars of Raw trusted John Cena as their representative, while Smackdown's General Manager, Vickie Guerrero chose Chavo Guerrero as Smackdown's representative. ECW Manager, Teddy Long chose Mark Henry as ECW's representative. Raw's John Cena won the triple threat match at Survivor Series and saved his brand when he pinned Mark Henry following the FU. None of the ECW superstars were fired as they were all drafted by Raw and Smackdown, and in the process both surviving brands traded a few of their superstars to each other. Teddy Long was also awarded the General Manager position of Raw, but was assigned to have a Co-General Manager, who went by the name of Armando Estrada. With the drastic turn of events, more people were drawn back to the WWE to watch Raw and Smackdown battle it out for ratings! WWE ~ The New Era takes place the week after Survivor Series.
